GMC Savana 2500 Extended
The Savana 2500 Extended Cargo Van is only available with a gas engine. The basic engine is the 4.8L V8 SFI Flex Fuel. You can upgrade to a 6.0L V8 engine if you choose. A diesel engine is only available as a Duramax 6.6L V8 Turbo Engine. The extended version has a wheel base of 155 inches. It has a cargo area of 284.4 cubic feet behind the front seats. Lots of room and perfect for those who need to carry tons of equipment or luggage with them.
In case you are not sure what the term flex fuel is we will quickly explain that for you. Flex fuel engines were created to help reduce the amount of emissions vehicles were producing. A vehicle that can use flex fuel is capable of using E85. This is a combination of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent regular gas.
Standard interior features include front driver and passenger airbags. The front of this 2500 extended cargo van has air conditioning included as a standard feature. The console engine cover has an open storage bin area with 3 custom cup holders included.
The side windows come with a window defogger as a standard feature. The front seats are bucket seats with a vinyl covering. A cloth covering is available as an upgrade and so is a 6 way power adjust driver’s seat.
On the front console there is a complete driver information centre which includes lots of features including monitoring your tire pressure. In this front area there is a 12V power outlet for easy use.
Some examples of interior upgrades you could choose from rear air conditioning, rear window defogger, steering wheel mounted controls and On Star and XM Radio choices.

The grille is also painted black and comes with single rectangular halogen lamps. The upgrade is a chrome package with dual rectangular halogen headlamps.
A popular exterior option is the halo trim which replaces the standard black panel above the tail lamps. The only two colors that this halo trim is not available with are Onyx Black and Fire Red.
All of these options and upgrades should easily provide you with enough choices so that you can customize your cargo van to suit your business needs. For example many businesses adapt these cargo vans to allow easy loading and unloading of wheelchairs. Other small business owners customize the extended cargo van with storage boxes and racks. They often choose to have a roof rack installed, which must be done at your local GMC dealership.
Other ways to customize your van is to have swing out rear and side doors. Again this just provides you with easy access to the interior of the van and can be a very useful feature.
